Neurophysiology Fellowship
The clinical neurophysiology program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center provides ACGME-approved fellowship training. We hire two or three fellows each year for first year training. Opportunities exist for an additional year of specialized training.
The first year covers both EEG and EMG/NCS, with elective rotations available in sleep-medicine and clinical or basic science research. Time spent in each subspecialty may be varied according to the individual fellow's ultimate career goal. The laboratory performs approximately 5,000 procedures per year. These include routine adult and pediatric EEG, EMG, video-EEG monitoring, multi-modality Evoked Potentials, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, WADA testing, electrocorticography and muscle/nerve biopsies.
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is rated a level 4 epilepsy care center as designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC).

Muscle and nerve biopsies are preformed by neuromuscular staff and interpreted by neuromuscular staff in conjunction with neuropathology with fellow involvement.

Our teaching faculty are full-time physicians board certified in their respective areas. The program offers extensive exposure and experience in various neurophysiological procedures in both adults and children.
